What are the requirements?
There are two main requirements: be less than 35 years old, and be a student. There may be other special requirements special to your case. Contact Sanitas to ensure you are eligible.
What happens if I decide to cancel my insurance and request a refund?
First, you must inform Sanitas to cancel your application. If you have paid already, we will refund what you paid minus 2-3.5% depending on your method of payment.
Can I use this insurance to apply for the student visa or residency?
Yes. The International Student Health Insurance by Sanitas is for international students who are coming to Spain to study. It's valid for the student visa and residency.
I am going to study for 12 months, can I get the insurance or fewer or more months?
No, the insurance must cover you for the same period you will be studying. If you are a student for 8 months, the coverage will be 8 months. It can't be more or less. However, the minimum is 6 months.
When do I pay?
First you must send your documents to Sanitas to review and approve. Once they approve your application, you can make the payment to us. In other words, you have to make the payment to us AFTER receiving Sanitas's approval and OK to pay.
Can I pay on a monthly basis?
No, the only way is to pay the entire amount in advance. If you want to pay on a monthly basis, you need to contact Sanitas directly but that will be more expensive.
What are some the payment methods?
You can pay using three methods: online on our website using a credit or debit card, bank transfer or cash (we can accept cash only in Barcelona).
How long does the process usually take?
Usually it takes between 2 to 5 working days from the day you send your request until you receive your digital certificate.
What if my visa request gets rejected?
If you have already paid, then ask the embassy for a document that says your visa has been rejected and send it to Sanitas. When they inform us that your visa has been cancelled, we will refund your payment.
Is there a minimum or maximum duration?
The minimum duration for new insurances is 6 months but there is no maximum duration. However, you can pay only 12 months at a time. The minimum duration for renewal is 1 month (if you already have the Sanitas health insurance)
Do I need to be a student to get this insurance?
Yes, the Sanitas International Student Health Insurance package is only for international students in Spain. You must send a copy of your school enrollment paper. if you are not a student, you may need to get the 'normal' insurance (which usually costs a bit more).
What is the Studentfy Premium Price?
The Studentfy Premium Members always receive a discount on everything we offer. You don't have to be a Premium Member but as a Premium Member you will save 2.5€ per month.
